VT Education Forum in Norwich, VT
Education issues in Vermont are complex and in need of a solid understanding of facts and context. A discussion forum is scheduled to provide just that, on Thursday, 1/22/25, 6:30-8:30 pm, in the community room of the Norwich Public Library (368 Main St, Norwich, VT).
Speakers will be Neil Odell, a member since 2009 of the Norwich/Dresden school board; Nic Cook, chair of the Thetford Town school board and member of OESU board; and Jay Badams, the recently retired Norwich-Hanover-Dresden superintendent, Strafford resident, and member of the VT School Redistricting Task Force. VT State Representative Rebecca Holcombe will facilitate the discussion.
Topics will include education cost drivers, cost containment options; proposals to maintain quality and community; whether public dollars should flow to private schools; various proposed changes and how they would work. There will be plenty of time for Q and A.
Free and open to the public, the forum is organized by the Norwich Democratic Committee; contact linda.c.gray@gmail.com for information.
